ABOUT

Bath Road Gallery is a beautiful light filled gallery space in the Cowes 'Old Town' retaining its original windows and polished brass. Looking out it has glimses of the River Medina down Watch House Lane past the Union Tavern and north to The Solent along Bath Road.

The gallery contains work inspired by the landsapes and coastline of the Isle of Wight. Prices are affordable - starting at around £50 for original works, framed prints and jewellery from £40.

There is also a selection of artists cards and other beautiful things we've found along the way.

JAMES LORD

Gallery Owner, Artist & Designer

James was born on the Isle of Wight and grew up in Yarmouth where he spent an idylic childhood sculling around the harbour, sailing Scows on the River Yar and playing in the surf on long summer days at Compton Bay. He studied at Bournemouth college of Art and then London College of Printing where he graduated with a BA Hons degree in Graphic Communication. He then lived and worked in London as a graphic designer for over 10 years before heading back to the Island to continue working in design, illustration and photography.

Over the last two years his work has moved away from illustrative prints to explore original art works based around abstract land and seascapes, shapes and colour on reclaimed materials.
